The European Sculpture Department encompasses Sculpture and Works of Art produced in Europe and European colonies such as Central and South America. The time period spans the Middle Ages up to the end of Neo-Classicism in circa 1830 and covers a wide range of materials including bronze, stone, marble, wood and terracotta as well as ivory, enamel, stained glass, hardstone and certain types of metalwork including early religious ceremonial vessels.
